The School

St Brendan's School is a non-profit civil association, which has a solid institutional culture with a clear vision of the future.

St Brendan's School is a bilingual, non-denominational school that promotes a pedagogical constructivist approach focused on the child as a whole. In this approach understanding is built from the connections children make between their own prior knowledge and the learning experiences. In this way, critical thinking skills are developed.

Cooperative learning and individual skills are stimulated by identifying the different learning styles that enhance the development of multiple intelligences.

The formation of ethics is conceived as a shared responsibility between the family and the school. It focuses on learning to reflect, choose and act using the attributes of the IB learner profile as the model to follow.

St. Brendan's School is the only school in the country developing the Three International Baccalaureate Programmes. These are:

The Diploma Programme - Pre-University course for students aged 16 to 19. The Diploma Programme is a two-year curriculum.

MYP - Middle Years Programme. For students aged 12 to 16.

PYP - The Primary Years Programme. For students aged 3 to 12.

Bilingual School

The aim is to teach English Language on a par with Spanish which is the first language of the vast majority of the students. Communicative skills are not the only goal sought. English language becomes a tool for the understanding of concepts, gaining knowledge and the development of critical thinking skills.

Non-denominational School

St. Brendan's School promotes an open vision towards different cultures and beliefs and values of other people encouraging students to understand each culture with tolerance and respect.

Authorized School

St. Brendan's School is authorized by the National Authorities of Primary and Secondary Education at all levels.
